Prerequisites: Algebra I and Geometry;
Algebra II begins with a review of linear functions and systems. It progresses to the development of quadratic, logarithmic, exponential, and rational and irrational algebraic functions.
Students will complete a STEM research project with real-world application. They will gather data through online research and interviewing experts in the field and will conclude the project by presenting their findings through a website and a documentary. Functions will be evaluated by their properties, definitions, and graphs and applications, including real world approaches.
Materials needed: graphing calculator
Honors Credit: To receive Honors credit, you must enroll concurrently in the Honors Addendum for this course. Honors credit includes a GPA weight of 0.3 points.
Office Hours: Instructor office hours will occur on weekdays. The class instructor will communicate the exact days and times at least one week prior to the beginning of the course.
