Dr. Ron Malcolm brings a lifetime of passion and commitment to ASL courses through Barstow Global Online. He is currently an instructor at the University of Kansas and works with high school students in Kansas. The ASL 1A course covers only half of the standard ASL1 content; it provides more depth of coverage in each lesson, and students can work at a slower pace. Each class aims to help students develop the skills necessary to apply their American Sign Language (ASL) knowledge within the Deaf Community. Students will learn with the Signing Naturally curriculum based on the functional-notional approach to learning Sign Language and organizes language around everyday interaction's communicative purposes. The course is structure into four basic categories: cultural awareness, grammatical features, vocabulary development, and conversational skills.

Office Hours: Instructor will have two office hours each week. The class instructor will communicate the exact days and times at least one week prior to the beginning of the course.
